This Friday, I’ll be back at NAMM Show. That sentence alone feels surreal.
Back in 1990 and 1991, I was a student at the Musicians Institute, specifically the Vocal Institute of Technology. I attended NAMM during those years, and while it wasn’t the massive city-sized event it is today, it was still overwhelming in the best possible way.
I remember standing there watching Tommy Aldridge from Whitesnake give a drum clinic. It was eye-opening. Inspiring. One of those moments where you realize just how deep the craft can go.
Fast forward 35 years.
Here I am again, soon to be walking into NAMM, humbled by the journey. I went from studying voice to teaching voice. Thirty years of coaching singers. A world-first glass-shattering record, thanks to my vocal coach Jim Gillette. Sixteen vocal-related books released, including my first book, Raise Your Voice.
And yet, one thing has never changed. The way I teach vocal technique.
When I released my first book, there were only a handful of vocal training books on the market. Today, there are many excellent ones. There are also books that chase trends. New terminology. New “systems” every few years.
That has never been my approach. I don’t teach trendy techniques. I teach anatomically correct technique. The way the voice was designed to work. Babies already know how to do this. Somewhere along the way to adulthood, we forget.
I’m also not about giving you 500 exercises. I’m about getting you into the gym, teaching you how to warm up properly, and then doing the equivalent of bench presses and squats with your voice. Pure vocal strength training.
If you want more stamina, power, range, and better tone come see me at Booth 10745, the booth for Superior Vocal Health.
I genuinely love their products. They even created our Bottle Drops. I also published their book, which I’m incredibly proud of.
Here’s the important part. I have 16 private lesson slots available. 15 minutes each. If you sign up, you receive:
-
A free Doctor VOX bottle
- A bottle of Throat Saver spray
No gimmicks, no strings attached. Right now, 10 slots are already filled, which leaves six remaining:
-
One slot on Friday
-
Five slots on Saturday
Your 15 minutes are yours to use however you want. You can ask me about an exercise, have me explain a vocal issue you’re dealing with, sing a section of a song, demonstrate something that feels off in your voice, or yes, you can even ask about MythBusters.
If this sounds like something you want, private message me now at Jaime@JaimeVendera.com or 740-464-8275. Once the slots are gone, they’re gone. I’ll talk all day long if you let me. But these spots won’t last.
See you at NAMM.
Your Vox coach,
Jaime Vendera
